A few new items were uploaded today...

A new AUD recording of 7-31-74 has surfaced. Although I heard high praise of this recording, I actually thought the older AUD sounded much better - the band's brighter & more upfront. On the new AUD, it's not muffled exactly, but it is a bit duller & more distant; it certainly sounds different. The tradeoff though, is that the old AUD had lots of wind-noise, rustlings, bad cuts, and was missing the start of the show; this one is more complete. This AUD is also an excellent recording of the rowdy audience around the taper, if you like to hear that sort of thing!

Another copy of Don Amick's 6-26-73 AUD has also arrived, basically a new transfer from one less reel generation. Doesn't sound that different...

Charlie Miller has worked on new remasters of 9-2-68, 10-12-68, and 10-13-68 with the pitch corrected. It seems the pitch wasn't off that much before, so I could barely tell the difference (10-13-68 is now slightly faster & 10-12 slightly slower). 9-2-68 also has an interesting alternate mix of set I included.

Also, Miller's provided a new 2-23-74. The older sources already sounded great of course, so there's not a big sonic change; but he's used an alternate source to patch a few small cuts & gaps, so this new copy is the most complete.

10/12/68 Set I needed -1.0%
10/12/68 Set II needed -3.3%
9/2/68 needed +1%
10/13/68 needed +2.5% - +3% (depending on the track)

Thanks again; & for the pitch info. Ahh, the analog days... when I valued my pitch correcting decks often more than my Luxman.

A SBD of 1981-03-10 has also just been posted; I hadn't realized that a SBD existed for this highly-regarded show. Half-Step is an interesting wreck (equipment problems turn it into an impromptu soundcheck) but the show sounds good to me on first listen, particularly China Doll.

Sure, not up to the standard of '68 or '74, but not half bad, especially if you haven't, like me, heard it before.

This is, now, one of my favorite "FOTM". I think I'll sailor/circ and listen to Fire again.

Thanks, WillCO.

I haven't listened to the 2-23-74, however i am hoping that along with the upgrade of 2-22-74 from a few weeks ago, that this means that we will be seeing an upgrade of 2-24-74 as well in the near future.
